Welcome to Avalance! We are a text-based Dutch/English RPG set in times of an ancient past, where myths and legends come to life. In Avalance, nothing is beyond the realm of possibilities. We do, however, understand that there are certain things that need to be explained. To keep everything in one place, we created the guidebook. Here, you can find the answers to all your questions. Whether you’re new or a veteran, this guidebook will help you find your way through our magical lands.

We do not have a minimum word count, so posts can be of any and all lengts. Please, however, try to give your co-player something to work with. On top of the no word count, we also do not have an activity check for our regular accounts. This means that you can leave your character for weeks or even months and come back to it. However, your Face Claim might be taken by the time you get back. Important characters (ex. Lords and Ladies) do have an activity check of two posts per month.

How to get started

Before you get started, make sure to read the Rules and Starting Guide, both of which are here to help you make the most of your journey! Head over to our Discord in case you need any help, or just to hang out with your co-players! We wish you the best of luck and most of all, a lot of fun on Forged in Fire!

English / Dutch

While most of our website is written in English, we are aware that the biggest part of our community is Dutch. For this reason, Dutch posts are accepted and not frowned upon. Our Discord too, will be used to speak in Dutch. Don’t worry about posting in a language you are less comfortable with: we all start somewhere and who knows, you might end up liking it!

If we do notice an influx of English-speaking players, we will make sure to adjust to this, so do not worry. You are welcome, even if you do not speak Dutch.
