PERSONALITY

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. - ENTJ

Joe always believes that he can make things better. Inside, he cares a lot about his family, though he does not quite know how to show it to him very well anymore. Instead, he thrives to make the world a better place for his children. To make sure that they will live in a world led by the Rightful King and that they shall not be in danger for supporting him. He believes that nothing is ever quite good enough and constantly desires to reform and improve.

He is a sociable man, one who is actually very easy and nice to hang out with outside of his job. In his job, he has a fine eye  for detail. He is always aware of his own flaws and those of others, as well as the situation they find themselves in. This causes him to constantly want to improve, which can be beneficial, but also can be burdensome as it never seems to be good enough. He is highly principled, competent and a follower of the rules; never breaking them, even if it is seen as the easier solution.

He can be a very angry person when people don’t agree with his ways, though he knows how to handle things in a diplomatic way. Outside of work, however, his anger comes out in occasional fits of temper - usually towards his wife. Because of his lingering anger, he can be impatient, frustrated and easily annoyed, which makes him hard to live with. When life is going his way, however, he is loyal and responsible - a capable partner and parent.

Outside of his home, and nowadays at home too, he has trouble showing his real emotions. He is uncomfortable with expressing tender feelings and is seldom spontaneous, making him a tough man to deal with. This does not mean that he is not fun to hang out with: he loves to spend some time with a drink at a bar, without any thought about his troubles or his family.

HISTORY

What would you do?
To protect the ones you love?

Joe lived a happy life with his two parents, as an only child. His parents, however, had a tough time together.  When he was seven, twins were born: a boy and a girl. What was supposed to be a happier time, turned even tougher. With the stress of twins, his mother yearned for her man to help out. Yet, he didn’t. All he could focus on was work and whatever else it was that he did when away from home. Until one day, she just couldn’t take it anymore. She took her three kids and ran for the Crownlands. He never even bothered to chase them.

At age fifteen, Joe became a squire to a Knight in the Kingsguard. It took six years before he was fully knighted, at the age of 21. As a young knight, a beautiful young girl grabbed his attention. Over time, the two grew to each other and carefully, they started dating. It was no love at first sight - no burning desire. It was a love that grew on each other, the kind that came from within. He got married at age 22 and fathered his first child soon after. At age 24, his teacher became hand of the king and he took his place at the King’s Guard.

What will you do?
To keep them safe?

Despite his job, he was a loving husband and father when he returned home. They got more children over the years, including a beautiful girl who was named after his mother. Things were looking up for the couple. As they both worked a solid job, money was good and their kids had a bright future ahead of them. It wasn’t until their youngest fell ill, that things suddenly took a turn for the worst. It turned out that she was poisoned by someone who hated their King - who hated everyone who served him.

They tried everything there was to try - from supposed witchery to alchemy, from simple medicines to rumours of holy water. Nothing worked. Nothing ever made a difference. His wife told him not to go to work - to stay with their daughter until her end, because they both knew it was coming.

He didn’t.

She died.

What have you done?
To make them fear you?

Suddenly, things went wrong. His relationship suffered under the loss of their daughter and he started to spend more time at work, which in turn meant that he was spending more time with the King. Slowly but surely, it started to feel like the man was the only one who truly understood him. But Joe wasn’t the same after the loss of his daughter. It never made him question his loyalty - but it did make him weary of all who did not swear fealty to his king. From Freyr to Illeon and all who were vouched to them. They were all a threat.

It was clear that the man had a mind that suited politics. As a member of the Guard, he spent a lot of time there, listening to what was said, only to remark on it when everyone had gone. He had a fresh mind - a clear view on things that his King could appreciate. Together with the Hand of the King, the Knight who had squired him, he was allowed to stay in on those meetings, just to bring a fresh opinion on things.

Because of this, he spent less and less time at home. This did not work in favor of his relationship. He knew he loved her - and he knew there had been a time where she had loved him too. But now, in this moment, things were simply not working out. After him being away during the death of their youngest, his wife had stopped begging him to spend more time at home. Instead, she started feeling like he cared for his job more than for her. A deadly thing for a relationship that had once been so filled with love.

The worse things got at home, the more time he spent with his friends. Years passed like this - him barely even getting to see his children anymore, who grew much closer to his wife than to him. When his father died, he was allowed to go and see his family. Taking his wife and children with him for a much needed holiday, they went up North for a few weeks, pay their respects, and spend some time away from the Crownlands.

In his holiday, it became clear that his youngest children feared him more than they loved him. As they only ever saw him fighting with their mother, he became the bad guy in their eyes. During this time in the North, he finally got a chance to bond with them, to finally be the dad they needed for a while. Things even seemed to look good between him and his wife.

What can you do?
To make things right?

It almost seemed like things were finally going to go back to the way they had been. But, when they got back from their holiday, nothing seemed less true. The Hand had died to an illness that had rooted deep in his bones, unable to be saved. A new Hand was to be chosen and things were clear from the start. Joe was the first on their list, as he had earned both the trust from the Hand as the King himself. His wife asked him not to take the job - to finally spend time at home instead.

But he took it.

Council

The man who taught him to be a Knight became the Hand of the King. The man advised the King to take his squire into his guard and so he did, allowing young Joe to become a Kingsguard. He did well - an honorable man working an honorable job. He started getting along with the King and, obviously, the Hand. The two have a friendship and, while they do not always see things the same way, Joe has an unconditional loyalty towards the man and will do everything in his power to keep the Royal family seated where they are. He works hard, despite the effects it has on his personal life.

It has been about two years now since he became part of the council, after serving as a king’s guard for 12 years.

FAMILY TREE

Caleb Vadoma † x Tillie Vadoma †
/
/
Hester Boswell Vadoma (daughter) †
& Basil Boswell (ex-lover)

PERSONALITY

Augusta is a very reserved woman. She doesn't talk about herself very often and she likes to stay a mystery to others. This is part of her job, but she also doesn't trust people enough to tell them about herself. She loves lying low and staying in the shadows. The less attention she gets, the better. Yet this does not mean that she is a shy person. Quite the opposite, actually. She will speak her mind and she will fight for what she believes in, but she only does so when she seems fitting. She doesn't like to make a scene out of things when that can be avoided.

She cares a lot about the people who mean a lot to her, but she did get colder over the years because of what she all went through. Augusta would give her life to save someone she loves or kill for those close to her, which isn't her best character trait because it contradicts with her need to stay unnoticed. These times are the only times she shows emotion/weakness. She is a woman with very strong opinions and a need to keep people safe. Augusta developed this need after losing her daughter and the need grew over the years. This is the main factor that caused her to want to work for the king.

The less people know about her, the better so she created a second personality that she uses when she needs people to trust her. She acts friendly and talks a lot about 'herself', which means talking about stuff that she makes up on the spot. Augusta has a good memory and only very rarely she forgets the little lies she tells others that get them to trust her. She used to spy a lot on people and she knows her ways to get information from people you wouldn't suspect to give that information out.

HISTORY

Augusta was born and raised in Dragonwatch. She lived in a rather wealthy family, which caused her to have a pretty great youth, although she was lonely. She was never hungry and she got what she wanted if she begged her parents to buy her the thing. Even though money wasn't a problem in the Vadoma family, she always stayed down to earth. She knew how difficult making a living was and she never took her luck for granted.

As she grew older, she developed a strange relationship with reality. She alienated a bit from her parents, and this only got worse over the years. She wanted to know everything about everyone. She wanted information. Her parents found this an annoying habit. By the time she turned twenty-three, her parents distanced themselves from her. She would ask questions all the time, about everything, to everyone. To this day she still doesn't know why she likes knowing everything, but she guesses it's because she was bored as a kid. She had always been lonely and she never made any friends, so she tried to fill the gap with knowing stuff about people. It made her feel like she knew people and like she wasn't alone.

Considering herself a grown up now that she was twenty-three, she convinced herself that she didn't need her parents anymore. She still had this need for information, so she tried to find a job that'd provide her with all the information she could ever want in life. It didn't take long before she ended up in a brothel. In there, the men told her a lot about their personal lives. About their wives, about their kids, their jobs, their days, etc. She didn't sleep with the men, she just kept them company. Augusta kept this job for twelve years but she noticed that the older she got, the less men were interested in spending their evenings with her. They liked young, pretty girls. She wasn't considered one anymore. She was thirty-five and she started thinking about quitting her job.

On one of her lonely nights in the brothel, she met a man. He did want to spend time with her. He told her sweet things, lovely things. He made promises. They'd go away together. They'd be forever together. Augusta grew to love this man. His name was Basil and he was her sweetheart. She was so blinded by love that she didn't notice all the little lies he told her. A year went by and then Augusta noticed that she was pregnant. She was excited and told Basil about it, who didn't return the excitement. This scared the woman, and a few weeks before she gave birth to their child, Basil vanished. Much later she would find out that he had been married to another woman all along.

At thirty-six, she gave birth to a daughter. She called the girl Hester. Soon the mother started to realise that there was something wrong with her child. Hester had trouble breathing. It didn't bother Augusta much at first, but she was scared that the problems would one day become fatal. Sadly, that was indeed the case. The little girl died four months later, leaving her mom behind with a broken heart. Augusta had lost the two people that meant the most to her over the last four months. She reached out to her parents. Of course they still loved their daughter, so Augusta moved in with them again for a while. She sold her house in Dragonwatch and spent the next year with her parents, healing her wounds.

Thirty-seven was the age that changed everything for her. She still had her connections to brothels all over Avalance and she had always been a strong woman, so she decided to dream big. She wanted to become the next master of whispers. She knew it wasn't very likely to get chosen to be a part of the king's council as a woman, but she decided to dream anyway. Her bold move of meeting up with the previous master of whispers paid off because she did get accepted as the new master, thanks to his little recommendation note. She could easily manage the spies in the country, and given her connection to the brothels, she knew she could also get information from there. A lot of important men still went to brothels, married or not. Later, Augusta bought a lovely house just outside of Dragonwatch, next to the Dragon's Tail, where she enjoyed the silence and the peace of being alone.

Council

The council was in need of a new master of whispers because the previous one had died of old age and Augusta found the job to be fitting for her because she had always loved collecting information. She knew there was little chance of her geting chosen to be the new master but luckily she had met the previous master of whispers a few times during her life in the brothel. He was a lovely man and needed company, like all great men sometimes crave. The two of them got to talking though, and she told him about her life. The lady had heard that her 'friend' was very ill, so she visited him to say goodbye, and to ask if he could  put in a good word for her. She did care about him, but of course him being ill was a good opportunity for her to get chosen by the king. The man did put in a good word for her, by writing a little recommendation note, because he knew she'd be perfect for the job. The king listened to the dying man's advice, and decided to give her a seat in the Council.

Augusta was raised in a family that spoke high praise of House Aldyr, which makes it an honour for her to work for the royal family. She is a woman of principles and thinks that the country should obey the rules of their king. She works hard to keep the king up to date on what in going on in his country so that he can interfere when something isn't going as he wishes. She has been working for the king for the past five years now.

Kid that passed away

PERSONALITY

++ | Caring, Loving, Loyal, Challenging

- | Blunt, Brutal, Calculating, Impatient
-- | Aggressive, Confrontational, Stubborn ,Protective

HISTORY

Joel was born as the first son of the Ryker family. It was a happy family, his father was a knight for the king while his mother tended to keep herself busy with teaching other people. Both kids and adults from all kinds of houses. The woman took real pleasure in teaching others, while his father loved protecting both his and the royal family. It didn’t leave that much time for a kid, but with the help of some family friends and off course still seeing plenty of his parents around he didn’t have a care in the world. The one particular fascination little Joel had from a young age were boats. His father had carved out a small wooden boat for the little kid to play with and that was in the end what started everything. Growing up in a city like Dragonwatch was a blessing for him. Learning all kinds of things from playing outside, or just sitting outside and looking around since most of what he learned came from his parents and playing with his younger siblings off course. Joel loved his family deeply, was extremely loyal to them and extremely protective of his younger siblings. Which often resulted in altercations with both his siblings and people that had it out for his siblings. Something that only got worse when he got older actually.

His father thought him how to fight and defend himself in the proper way. Getting his son ready to actually follow in his footsteps. Something Joel wanted too. But he knew that there was more for him. During one of the summer’s their family went on an outing on the ocean and it became obviously clear that the now teenager Joel felt more at home on the water. Soon as they got back he started drawing things that he had seen from on the water, making a small map of everything that he had seen. The position of the king’s fleet as well. A map that eventually was burned by his father because well, it could get them into trouble. But his father had noticed certain things about his son, and tried to get him into contact with one of the captains of the fleet that he knew. A thing Joel had done himself years before. The first few years he wasn’t away often, but as he got older he started travelling more and more with that same captain. And if he wasn’t on the ship and hanging around with his family or in a tavern he was stuck with his nose in books. Books that thought him about naval warfare. Some would say he was obsessing about it. His mother did pick up on that, and pulled him by the ear to the shipyard. Making him help out with actually building ships. Truly a dream that came true for him.

An amount of years passed, his sister had took off to another continent to teach kids, his brother was on his way to become a knight and their other sister. Was actually travelling the country. While he was still doing what he loved, helping around in the shipyard, keeping his interest on point. And actually falling in love. It happened out of the blue. But he fell in love, and he fell in love hard. After a year of steadily dating with each other, he asked her hand in marriage. Joel was somewhere in his mid-twenties when he did this. They did marry. Within the first two years of their marriage she got pregnant which was obviously the best thing that happened to him. That and the fact that one of the captains he had gotten really close with had brought him into contact with the master of ships from the king. Both in his family and career wise things were looking up for him. But his luck turned south rather quickly, his wife lost the baby and that was the beginning of all their troubles. To deal with his grief he put his focus completely on learning from the master of ships, someone that found him actual fit to take over his job when he was done learning. So Joel being around 29 then, became an apprentice of the master of ships.

It was due to his knowledge, his focus and his persistence that a few years later the man was being called to the council of the king. To be named as the new master of ships. A role that suited him. Both of his parents were very proud of him, his whole family even made the time to come and congratulate him in person.  At the age of 38 both of his parents died, mainly due to old age the both of them already being over their fifties. His mother had been suffering from a cough for a couple of years already, but his father who had always been in good condition just saw his spouse getting worse and worse. Which did something with the mental health of the man. Both of them died, separated by a few days.

Council

Joel became master of ships when he was 34, five years ago. One of the foremost reason’s that it actually happened was because of the fact that he was an apprentice of the previous master of ships. But along the years the man had made a name for himself amongst the captains in the shipyards, helping them out with fixing their ships when they needed it. Sometimes giving them advice about when and where to strike if they ever fell into battle again. This and his knowledge about ships and naval warfare in general were the sole reason that he actually was contacted by the previous master of ships.

That and the man needed someone to fill in his shoes. But he needed someone who he could trust, who he could teach all that he knew and who would act right with all the information he gave to Joel. That and the good name that the Ryker household carried around in the capital did more than enough to get him noticed by the kind. Somewhere right before a military drill in the midst of the ocean Joel was appointed. Or so he thought. The previous master of ships had told him the news, actually misleading him by order of the king off course. Cause he wanted to see how Joel would perform under pressure, and a military drill of that size. It did bring a lot of stress. But the man kept his head calm, acted like how he was supposed to act. There was a moment when it all would’ve gone south. But that was the moment that Joel had shined the brightest, by pulling out the king’s flagship right in time before it would’ve collided with a few other ships. A mistake from the captains, but a mistake that Joel had foreseen before disaster had struck. It was with that, and proving that he knew enough about the king’s fleet that the man made a lasting impression.

TBC, TBC

PERSONALITY

Javier is a strict man. He believes in loyalty to the crown and his king above loyalty to his heart. He has always seen the world split in two. Knowing that taking preference to one thing will hurt the other. This is what made his first marriage fail. Making him promise to do better in his second marriage. Yet this is something he struggles with every day. He adores his little family but knows that he can never be what they truly need.

Being his age, Javier has seen a lot of the world, good and bad and has learned to read the hidden meanings in words. Though a trained master with the sword he knows just as well that most battles are fought with words. If his words can stop a war from happening, than he fights the battle with his words alone. Because of this mindset Javier isn't scared of being unlikeable, he would rather be the enemy than knowing someone got hurt because he didn't do his part.

HISTORY

Javier is the younger brother of the now deceased king Aldyr of Avalance. This makes him the uncle of our current king Jeran. Javier is quite a bit younger than his siblings, somthing he struggled with in his youth. He always wanted to prove himself to his siblings and to his father. The, when alive, king of Avalance. This king never had time for him, living a busy life with ruling his kingdom and teaching his son to take over the throne one day.

This constant proving led to Javier taking up a sword at a young age. He was 10 when he had his first battle in a shaggy little bar at the edge of Dragonwatch in this same bar Javier nearly got killed by an man tripple his age if it wasn't for the Lord Commander who had been nearby by chance. The senior commander took him apart and gave him a good hard talk about what strenght ment. This very talk, so near after death gave Javier the inspiration to keep fighting, even if he had been scared to death not ten minutes before.

Javier kept training on his swordsmanship, leading to a position in the kingsguard when he turned 23. By then his father had passed away, never even acknowledging his sons position. Ofcourse this broke the young man, who had done nothing but try to show his father that he excisted. Luckily he had his brother, the now king of Avalance, who did care for him, this gave Javier a new spark to go on to the top. Over the years he spend all his time climbing higher up on his own. Not letting his last name play a part in his position.

During these years he got married to a lady of noble birth. Not that he gave her any time or attention, not noticing that she needed him, he got two children with her in a rather loveless marriage. Reaching the age of 46 when she suddenly passed away. Leaving him behind with two children of 9 and 12 and no way of knowing how to raise them. He didn't cry for his wife, but reality struck him with a thunderbolt. He had done exactly that what his father had done to him. He vowed that he would make his children's lives better than he had gotten.

During these troubles in his personal life, his brother passed away, a death Javier mourned deeply. Making him realise that he was getting older, he would soon perhaps die as well. His children would be left alone with no one to take care of them. Something he couldn't handle. With this in mind he found himself a new wife, though it was someone quite a bit younger than he was, he knew that she would be able to take care of his children. A wife he would try to love, though duty seemed to still get in the way. For not so long after his marriage he gained the position of Lord Commander, a dream come true, though after all these years he wasn't so sure if it was still his dream anymore. Javier accepted the title in order to be able to protect his nephew and his children. Right now, it was all about protecting them. Giving them a life to live when he would be gone.

Council

Almost ten years ago Javier Aldyr was appointed as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. A title he didn't get through his own birthright but thanks to years of hard work. He is a stern commander but always thinks of his family, his kingdom before himself.

For all his life Javier has been trained in the skills of the sword and he has been a member of the Kingsguard for over 30 years. He is a wise leader and despite his age still a fierce warrior. Ready to protect and serve with every day of his life.

He will mostly stay inside Dragonwatch, standing at the left hand of the king, protecting him with his steel. Only ever leaving the city when the king travels around or if it has been requested.

PERSONALITY

Traits: ambitious, arrogant, charismatic, confident, energetic, greedy, hedonistic, impatient, intolerant, slightly eccentric, strategic, strong-willed, ruthless.

Whatever Jordan wants, Jordan gets. Not out of pity or out of entitlement, but through sheer hard work and clever strategy. The man has an insatiable hunger for more, whether it be money, power, property, or women. Directed towards proper purpose, Jordan can be a force to be reckoned with. He can build empires and ruin lives, and does whatever it takes to move himself up in the world. He can be cold and ruthless at times, but do not mistake him for a heartless man. Somewhere down the Machiavellian exterior rests a fragile heart.

Jordan is an extravert in any sense of the word. He needs to be surrounded by people at all times, and adores being the centre of attention. He thrives on praise and admiration, since the opinion of others is the way he measures himself. While he has a large social network, he only keeps a handful of close friends whom he trusts and confides in. He values their opinion beyond anything.

If motivated, Jordan can get almost anything done. His go-getter attitude and his business-savvy are the perfect mixture for success, on the condition that he is not distracted by peripheral goals. He tends to seek out short-term pleasures such as alcohol and meaningless hook-ups, making him lose track of what is important sometimes. At the end of the day, all he really seeks is something or someone that will introduce meaning into his life.

HISTORY

Jordan was born as the first son to Adian and Alyssa Redmayne. He grew up in a humble, sober mining village at the tail end of the Iron Ridge. From the very beginning, Jordan was taught the values that were deeply ingrained in their small community: dedication, commitment, and hard work. The larger portion of his childhood was quite sheltered. He stayed inside the family estate while the commoners slaved away in the mines below. Jordan was taught how to read and write, as well as everything else he needed to know once he would take over the house. Once he turned old enough, he was allowed to go outside by himself and got his very first taste of the real world.

Jordan expected to be met with respect and admiration, seeing as his father ruled over the small settlement. On the contrary: the workers, who were breaking their backs under the awful working conditions, looked at Jordan with disdain and hatred. They spat at him in the street, and Jordan quickly came to resent them. He started to see the commoners as less than him, as tools to be used by smarter men to achieve their goals. And that was exactly what he would do.

Jordan spent the majority of his teenage years by himself, locked in his chambers in the estate. He read a lot during that time, gathering knowledge on whatever topic he could think of. He let his father order countless books from all over the world and read through each of them at least a dozen times. Things stayed that way until Adian fell ill and passed away a few weeks later, leaving Jordan in charge. While Jordan was arguably in no way a better person than his father, he was infinitely more intelligent. The people of the community hoped that he would be able to turn things around, and he did. Just not in the way they had expected him to.

Jordan fired every single one of the workers and reconstructed the settlement into a penal colony for criminals from all over Avalance, which he named Cidhna Mine. Convicts sentenced to rot away in prison were instead allowed to be brought under in the settlement in order to work in the mines as punishment for their crimes, in return for a small fee to Jordan himself. This way, he had cost-free labourers working for him day and night, which massively increased his profits. The living conditions were still horrible, and the mines still frequently collapsed, but since the labourers were now criminals that were meant to be punished in the first place, no one batted an eye at Jordan’s practices.

After that, things quickly changed. Jordan had acquired an impressive amount of capital, and instead of taking a break and enjoying the money, he decided to put it to work. He invested in countless inns, brothels, and bars across Avalance, which only further increased his funds. Jordan left the colony in charge of some trusted employees and moved to Dragonwatch in order to escape his bleak hometown and pursue a brighter future. It didn’t take long for others to notice his knack for business, and Jordan quickly managed to gain some political traction.

Jordan knew exactly how to make the proper connections to move himself up in the world, and he promptly did so. He got married to a prominent socialite from Dragonwatch whose father was a well-regarded man within the city. While they seemed happy for public appearance, the marriage was colder than a northern winter. The pair had two children, and while Jordan loved them more than anything in the world, he found it difficult to balance work and his private life. He frequently sought refuge in the arms of strangers, which he eventually failed to keep a secret.

Council

Jordan’s rapid ascension among the upper echelons of Avalance hadn’t gone unnoticed by the Small Council. His ability to seemingly pull money out of thin air was a great asset to the king himself, who was silently struggling with a seemingly bottomless deficit. Jordan had also managed to make the right connections among the nobility within Dragonwatch and the Crownlands, establishing him as a reliable and trustworthy person. About a decade after Jordan had moved to Dragonwatch, he got in talks with the Small Council to take up the position of Master of Finances to the king of Avalance. He eventually decided to take the job, replacing his predecessor. He has currently been working for the Small Council – in addition to his countless other businesses – for a bout eight years.

FAMILY TREE

Romeo Carbone x Liliana Carbone
TBA
Elena Carbone (died)
Eleonora Carbone and Valerius Carbone (both died)

PERSONALITY

Aloysius is a man of honor. He would give his life to protect other people, which has become his job too. His courage and determination have always helped him along the way, spending more time training than most other men, not stopping until every movement of his sword was as close to perfection as it possibly could be. In his younger years, his bravery made him somewhat reckless, though he has managed to use his mind more than his heart now that he holds an important position at court. He knows the stakes of him acting with his heart, because the heart can be deceiving and treacherous.

HISTORY

Aloysius was born on a stormy night in Dragonwatch. His mother had a rough time giving birth to him, but luckily her husband was wealthy enough to have her be surrounded by people that seemed to know what they were doing. They helped her through and within a couple of hours, her second child would finally be born. His name meant ‘famous warrior’, because his father hoped he would one day be the man he was never able to be. Aloy’s father served the Royal family in his younger years, until he got crippled and he was pretty much useless. The Carbone family owned a small business, concerning the trade with multiple exotic wares with both Ashax and countries further away from Avalance. Now that his father couldn’t fight anymore, he took the place as head of the company. The man was unhappy, since he had been a soldier in heart and soul, so he decided to turn Aloysius in his little protegé.

His father was far from a kind man. He was strict and harsh, not cutting his son any slack as it came to it. Aloysius learned how to handle his weapons at a very young age. Once he was old enough, his father sent him away to train. He spent most of his youth in the Crownlands, but eventually was sent away to Ashax, where he learned how to deal with the tough conditions of the desert. He was only nineteen when he met a beautiful woman that captured his heart. Even though he wasn’t supposed to, he met up with her a couple of times and they stayed in touch after he was sent back to the Crownlands again.

He convinced his father to allow him to marry the love of his life, or so he thought. Liliana was brought over to Dragonwatch and the two married. The first three years were perfect, she brought two of his children into the world and they owned a little house close to the docks. Aloysius had wasn’t a warrior any longer, because the woman he loved so much had begged him to stop. Instead, he had managed to get a job at a blacksmith, where he forged the swords of other men. He did miss the fighting, though, but he contained himself in order to keep a strong marriage.

Sickness hit his family. First, his youngest daughter died. Then, his wife got sick too and passed away from a high fever. His eldest son, only four at the time, also didn’t survive the sickness. Aloysius was broken now that everything he had built suddenly had fallen away under his feet. He needed something to keep his mind occupied, otherwise he would be swallowed by his own thoughts. He applied for a place in the Royal army, following in the footsteps of his father.

His commander soon found out that he was one of the best and fierce fighters of his age, and they promoted him. Aloysius showed them courage and a strong physique, which made him a perfect example for others. His best weapon was a sword, simple but classy. And not to forget: deadly.

Years went by and he managed to forget about his family. He had allowed himself to continue with his life and only kept the happy memories of them alive in his mind. Until the day came that he received a letter. Some information about a business partner of his father, to whom his old man owed some money. The possibility arose that his family hadn’t died of a disease, but that they were poisoned. He wanted to act on the information, but he didn't. Instead, he focussed more on his job.

However, to this very day, he monthly visits the graves of his deceased wife and children, bringing flowers to their graves in order to never forget them. They are buried a few miles away from the capital. Aloysius started to notice that he started to forget the exact sound of their voices, and even the way they looked faded over the years. He's still holding onto two sketches that his wife once made of their children, though he only looks at them when he feels like the image of them is fading. Aloysius did manage to move on and let them go, but he wants to keep the good memories about them intact.

Council

Aloysius slowly turned into the perfect warrior. He had no family, barely a personal life and quite a wealthy family that was loyal to the King. When he was in his mid-twenties, they offered him to join the King's Guard, something he immediately accepted.

He worked hard to prove himself, and he found himself actually enjoying the job he had. He studied the Royal family from afar, learned everything about their daily life and routine. Aloysius stood out, he was more focused on his work than others seemed to be and the swift way he could handle his weapons eventually brought him to the point where he was picked out to train the younger guards.

The former Lord Commander and he got along quite well. Aloysius was often put on important tasks within the King's Guard, earning the trust of the Royal Family as he always was around. Once the former Lord Commander died, Aloysius was picked as his successor. At this point, he's been the Lord Commander for a couple of years, managing the army of the King and having the safety of the family and the kingdom as his main priorities.
