use your knowledge
and your heart
to stand up for those that can't stand, speak for those that can't speak, be a beacon of light for those whose lives have become dark.
Linnéa was named after twinflowers, something that one did not tend to see so far up North. Especially since aside from the Savages the only people coming here tended to be visitors or workers at The Last Hearth, her home. The home of her people, although she was not the heir to her father's throne. Her eldest brother Connor was the one that would follow in his footsteps when the time came to give up his position. Linnéa sighed while her blue eyes scanned the pages, it was a small book; not that interesting. Most stories she had already read before, or her parents had told them, citated the words that were written in slightly curved letters. She was old enough to start learning to write and read; she had done so in the many lessons that her teachers gave her. Lessons that she thought to be boring. Old people were strange people. The brown haired girl hummed a soft song while she turned another slightly yellow page.

'Thy petticoat of slender white
With gold embroidered gorgeously;
Thy petticoat of silk and white
And these I bought gladly.'

Her soft voice rang out in the silence of the snow covered enviroment. Her brothers were probably still practicing their skills, be it hunting or fighting. Her father might have been in councel or maybe keeping his skills up to date. Her mother, she had no idea what her mother might be doing; other then the fact that she was seemingly busy. It was early in the morning and although she knew that her own Guard would keep an eye on her, this was one of the few times that she just could be a young girl without any expectations. The adult world was boring and sometimes annoying for a young girl that just wished to play with others and get home covered in snow and mud. Still, it could have been worse. She was loved by most if not all of her family and she loved following her father around and learning from him. Even though it would not be in her future to be the Lady of her House, unless all the others came to an untimely dead.
'Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.'

It had been a lovesong, one that her mother used to sing to her whenever she had been anxious for something. Linnéa was not easily scared, she had no worries and no experiences that would make her understand the hardships of life. She was well protected by those that loved her, cared for her and taught her the things that she needed to know. She was lucky in a way, the cold might make for a harsh enviroment but the people tended to be close. For each needed to other to survive, one could not do it all alone. The soft call of a bird, that seemed to fly over her head; made her look up with a slight frown upon her innocent face. It seemed that it had been scared off by something. Whatever it was, she knew it could mean trouble; birds did not tend to make that much sound early in the morning. While a few beams of light managed to lighten the small silhouette, she turned around to look for the culprit. Maybe she should have asked her father if there had been any sightings of large predators. Even though the young child never put too much distance between her and her home; where she was relatively safe. It did not mean that she would never cross the paths of danger. Not intended to remain here any longer, the young girl looked at her safe haven before she straightened her shoulders. Linnéa had yet to figure out what had scared the small animal enough to call out to its peers, she was not sure if she should be scared. She was close enough to her home to call out if she needed help and she had not heard  her father or brothers warn her against dangers around The Last Hearth. Perhaps she should not be scared, there was nothing to worry about, or was there?
