And she would bow to no one

It was one of those days were Amyntia didn’t have anything to do. Not working and not searching for some blood to enjoy. Instead, she stayed in the reach. Enjoying the company of the horses in the stable. Just sitting there and watching them. Hades seemed to watch her too. His blue eyes are a big contrast compared with his black coat. The white stripe on his forehead was the only other color that you could find. The undying scratched the big horse behind his ear while giving him a carrot.

After tying the halter around his head, did she pull him out of his stable. It was time to clean him. Amy had definitely seen him rolling inside his stall. His coat had become dusty because of it. Straws seemed to be stuck in his mane and tail. “You just can’t resist it, can you?” The horse just stared. With a shake of her head, the young woman binds him to a tree. This way she could brush the dirt from his coat and pulling the straws out. When that was done Amy went back inside the place to get a bucket full of water and simple sponge.

Amyntia was scrubbing hard on Hades is coat when she heard steps getting closer. The only reaction it got was that Amy was just a bit alert. Her muscles flexed for a second before relaxing again. Her focus was on the animal in front of her. Animals always showed more respect than any human alive or undying. And Hades wasn’t the only horse in the stables that needed to be cleaned. With her love for these animals, it was normal that the undying woman had more than just one. It was only when the footsteps had stopped close to her did the blue-eyed woman look up at the visitor.

I'm going to be the deadliest piece on the board

Helios was often found wandering, straying off the path, not really minding as to where is feet brought him. He had no ambitions in this world, not yet, and it sometimes bored him. Not that he minded the freedom that came with no responsibilities at all, it was safe to say he wouldn’t deal well with any responsibility leaning on his shoulders these days. The dark-haired man wiped some blood off the corner of his mouth with his sleeve, as he leaned against a tree, overlooking the area. As the wind turned, a scent suddenly peaked his interest. A scent he hadn’t come across in years, but he knew exactly who she was. He pushed himself away from the tree, suddenly following the scent to its origins.

There she was; the woman who had dragged him out of his hometown after he had just been turned into an undying. The one who had made sure he drank blood, the one who explained to him that insanity would get to him if he didn’t. Not as if insanity hadn’t already gotten to him, of course, but that was something he knew and something she could only assume. He stepped on a branch on purpose, making his presence clear to both her and her horse. Yet, all she did was tense up and because the wind wasn’t quite turned to her, she possibly hadn’t noticed who he was yet. He stepped even closer, stopping only three meters away from her. This was the moment she did, in fact, turn around to see who seemed to have the courage to come this close. He tilted his head a little to the left, as their eyes met. ”Hey there, stranger.” He spoke, after which he grinned slightly.

And she would bow to no one

The black horse always seems to enjoy the touch of his owner. The stallion was completely calm, something you wouldn't see if he wasn't close to her. Every horse that she owns has been taught to only accept her. In this world, you have to be careful with your animals. Anybody would dare to steal a horse. The moment someone tries to calm on his back is the moment that the stallion will turn aggressive. People would almost think he would be possessed, no just well trained. All Amyntia her horses are taught like that. Dirt seems to fly everywhere. How much can there actually be on his coat? Sighing softly Amy knew it would take a while. Specks of dirt got caught in her hair and the more sticky ones, right on her face. The woman soon sensed another presence. Not completely sure who it was made her tense her muscles for a second before relaxing immediately.  It differently won't be someone sane that dares to come to the cursed reach.

After the intruder was a mere three meters did Amyntia turn around.  ”Hey there, stranger.”  Her once neutral face soon changed. A dark smirk graced her lips. Her blue eyes twinkled with amusement, and not the innocent one."Look who we have here." The brush that she had in her hand was put on the back of the horse. "Didn't think you would survive this long" The dark humor clear in her voice. The young man had brought very bad memories up when they first met. To look a 'bit' more presentable woman tried to run her fingers through her hair with a lot of mud in her hair, yet failed miserably. Huffing annoyed Amyntia poked the nose of the animal "this is your fault" after grumbling a bit more did she turn back to the man in front of her. "I hope that you think a lot clearer than the last time" Of course he did, nobody would survive much longer in their insanity moments.

"Let's go inside, what kind of person would I be to let you stay outside. " She grinned while walking to house or however you want to call it. It was the place where a few undying stayed so it wasn't luxurious. Once inside she grabbed a glass and a dark bottle. The woman poured him a dark red liquid, which was clearly blood, of course. "So tell me, how long did it take" Probably not as long as herself. Amyntia had nobody to help her realize what could happen. It had been a close call before she had lost her mind completely.

He had waited for her to turn around before he spoke, knowing his voice would easily give him away otherwise. Her neutral expression changed quickly and he replied her smirk with a grin himself. ”Well, I guess the odds have been kind to me.” He replied. How many times had he almost accidently died? Probably a few, already. He had definitely made more enemies than friends and only time would tell how long it would take him before he got into some serious, life-threatening trouble. Not that he seemed to care. The boy who used to care about death had died nine years ago, as a hero saving his friends from a monster. He was no longer that boy. Not at all. His dark gaze shot to the horse next to her for a split second as she dragged her fingers through her hands. ”Maybe,” he replied to her question if he was able to think a lot clearer now. He had no clue, it wasn’t as if the insanity in his mind came from him being an Undying after all. They turned him because he was already turning to madness.

Helios followed her towards the house, his gaze travelling across the environment for a second. There were a lot of Undyings here, he could sense it. It was strange how so many Undyings had decided to make this their home, especially those who were in their last stage. The ones that had lost all parts of their insanity. A chill travelled across his spine, he hoped to never reach that stage. His mind these days was already all over the place, it terrified him to think of what it would be once he reached that stage. He absentmindedly looked around the house, it was clear she wasn’t the only one living here, before he sat down in a chair and watched as she poured him a drink. ”What a service,” he grinned, at least he wouldn’t go hungry.. or eh, thirsty, here. ”To start drinking? Not that long. I have been very careful not to wait too long, wouldn’t want to add another level of insanity to myself, would I?” He looked up at her. Even to this day, his mind was still playing tricks on him. The darkness that had seeped in nine years ago, never left. ”So this is your home?” He asked eventually, taking a sip from the glass.

The man that stood in front of her, wasn’t someone she expected to see. Not that it was a bad thing. The woman was just surprised. The first thing she did after seeing him was looking him up. How much has changed. It was clear that he wasn’t a very sane person. Yet Amy couldn’t figure out if it was because he became an undying or even before that. They both had the same magic when they were human. It was also clear that they both didn’t have the same way of how they grew up with it. Amyntia her father had teached her everything she know. It was because of that she grew up with it very carefully. Helios in front of her probably maybe hadn’t. The woman snorted at his words about the odds.

After looking better at him, Amy knew he will never become a sane person. Even if he spent centuries on trying. When the madness had grabbed you is the day you will never lose it. There first meeting it already had been a close call. Amyntia wouldn’t even dare to think if she had been there a minute later.  The house they went to wasn’t that well lit. It wasn’t needed either, undying could see just fine in the dark. After pouring him a glass of blood did she pour some for herself. The smirk that had appeared never left her lips. “Don’t get used to it, next time if you ever visits you should take it yourself.” It’s not that he is a stranger. Today was just an exception because it has been a while at only the second time they met. Even if it has been by coincidence. Amyntia chuckled. “Figured you wouldn’t be a person that would dislike drinking blood” Her smirk getting more darker. “It is good tho, i don’t think you need much of a push before losing your mind completely.” Watching him very closely.

Your close to it already. It really did surprise me that i was on time.” With a shrug of her shoulders took the woman a sip from her glass. Enjoying the sweet taste of blood. “But how long did it take before you could stop yourself becoming worse? Before you got just a tiny bit of clear mind and realize that if you don’t get your shit together that you will be lost forever.” Getting a clear mind is almost impossible if you reach a specific stadium of your insanity. He had been very close, even Amy herself had almost lost herself. Those beginning years had been very dark. ”So this is your home?” Laughing softly the woman nodded at his question. “As far as you can call it a home.” luxury had never been her priority. As long as you have a roof above your head it was fine. “It’s a place where i can get back to when i feel like it. Not only that, after being alone for centuries it doesn’t hurt to be around other undying.” The reach always would be safe because there weren’t a lot of people that would venture inside this place.
