The grey pelt covering her naked shoulders, rustled as her hand brushed over the silver crystals the bodice of her dress. It rested over her heart as she took a deep breath and glanced up. She wasn’t an emotional person. That was what she tried to tell herself and the people around her constantly. But, in that very moment, she felt like she was fighting against a lifetime worth of emotions as they rushed over her. For the very first time in years, in over a decade, she truly missed her parents. There was this part of her that wanted to hook her arm through her father’s elbow, wanted to walk down the aisle with him next to her. There was this part of her that wanted to know what her mother would say, that wanted to spent hours talking with her about the man she would be meeting at the end of that aisle.

Her hand brushed down from her chest to the now prominently protruding stomach covered by the black flowy fabric of the dress. ”Guess you have an important role to fulfill huh, little parasite?” she spoke while looking down, a nervous chuckle falling over her lips. Maybe, this little human growing inside her had been a blessing, a blessing in one hell of a disguise but a blessing none the less. After all, the little one had brought her back to Caer Scion and pushed her right in the arms that had made her feel safe. She felt a soft thump against her hand and it shook her up from her thoughts, glancing at Camilla who slipped into the main hall of the cathedral. The woman that had forced her into the dress she now adored wearing. Maybe it had been her inner little girl, or maybe it had just been a hidden desire of her, but she definitely loved wearing that dress more than anything. ”Let’s do this,” the young blonde whispered to her stomach as she took another deep breath to steady herself.

The soft thudding of footsteps reached her ears as she stretched her hand out to the door and as she looked up, her eye fell on the only person she would’ve liked by her side on that day. ”Asher,” she whispered with a smile, looking at the man walking up to her with tears appearing in her eyes. Tears that were shoved down as she let the older man reach for the door this time. The heavy wooden construction gave way, and Willa squeezed Asher’s arm softly, looking for some support. whatever had been happening, didn’t really matter as she caught Alec’s eyes. Not another wave of emotions, no sudden crying as she had heard so many stories about, just a beautiful warm feeling coming over her as she looked at him. Her heart had picked up speed. Why was she nervous? This was just them; they had decided on this and they were both content. Or maybe that was what she worried about, him not being happy? Him not feeling good about what was happening.

The officiant, priest or whatever the person in front was called, cleared his throat and Willa snapped out of the spiral she found herself in, smiling at Alec once more. ”Who presents this woman to be married to this man?” the man spoke and Camilla grinned as she glanced at the Willa and the younger blonde, in turn, looked up at the man who’s arm she was still holding on to. Now, there were tears, because Willa hadn’t expected anybody to be here for her, but instead she had two people rooting for her. To her that was more than she could’ve wished for, more than she had dreamed of. The blonde furiously blinked them away as Asher handed her over but Camilla interecepted and a softly hugged her close before walking to Alec and hugging him as well. The older woman gently took her hand and placed it in Alec’s hand. It felt as acceptance to the blonde and Willa smiled at her before smiling at Alec as she walked up to the alter, up to him.

Needless to say, he loathed nearly everything about the North, so it was a testament to his affection for Willa that he had come all this way despite of it. It was unbearably cold, the aftermath of the recent plague of undying was still very much present, and the journey to here had been a terribly long one. Still, he couldn’t be any happier that he had come all this way to see her like this. She looked very different from what he was used from her after all these years. Adorned in a wedding dress, heavily pregnant, and absolutely nervous. Who would’ve thought it would come to this?

But he was happy for her, euphoric even, and it showed. He was smiling like an idiot, grinning from ear to ear as he finally got to lay eyes on her. She looked more beautiful than ever, the flowy black skirt of her dress nearly managing to hide her quite prominent baby bump. Never in a million years would he have thought that the little blonde girl he’d found wandering around in the Lair would turn into this. He didn’t want to take too much credit for the way she had turned out, because really, he didn’t deserve it, but hey… She turned out pretty well.

“Willa,” he spoke after her, proudly smiling. He saw the tears shimmer in her eyes, and part of him was inclined to ruin the moment by saying something stupid, but he refrained from doing so. “You look absolutely stunning,” he assured her. Of course he could spare a compliment on her big day, mostly in the hopes that she wouldn’t actually start crying. It made him feel some type of way. He turned, offering her his arm so he could truly walk her down the aisle. He hadn’t really thought he would experience something like this within his lifetime, but here he was. The joyful look on his face didn’t disappear as he opened the door. If anything, it fuelled his sense of pride to be able to show her off to the other people in the cathedral like this. They should all now that he was proud to call her his daughter.

At the end of the aisle, he briefly looked at Alec, the man she was about to marry. Asher didn’t know much about him, but over the years he’d been taught better than to question Willa’s choices. She was known to make better ones than he did, after all. The priest’s words reverberated to the large hall, and Asher responded. “She gives herself, and with my blessing,” he spoke. Willa was her own woman, first and foremost. She made her own choices, and he would support her no matter what. This was what she truly wanted, and he wouldn’t let her do it without having her know that she had his blessing. He looked back at Willa, giving her an encouraging nod before symbolically handing her over to the groom. A half smile appeared on his face when the older woman intercepted her for a hug, after which she was returned to Alec. Asher then took up his own spot, watching the happy couple. He couldn't be more proud of her.

The man stared down at his feet, he had been waiting in a separate room closer to the altar. Pulling the black vest he was wearing a bit straighter. The golden trim on the collar  was his little wink to Solista and Yunuen. Because yes, they had to be present. Underneath he wore a plain black pair of pants, though if you looked close enough to the right side a little golden line was also visible. A smile caressed his lips, though if you looked deep enough in his eyes you could see the nerves swirling around. This was a big day, for the both of them. Sure, this wasn’t maybe how he had imagined every marrying to someone but in the end it was perfect for the pair for them. It was something he truly couldn’t explain, but this felt more than right. Though yes, he was more nervous than he ever expected. Which was weird given what he had done weeks ago. This scared him more in a way. A good way for sure. But it still scared him. The future had become so uncertain since Willa walked through his door, but he couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Or well, he could and he actually was. The days leading up to this whole ceremony had been filled with nothing more than love. For her and for the little babe she was carrying.

It was Apollo who had come to fetch him from the separate chambers. Alec looked the man in the eyes and grinned, stepping out of the room soon enough and  eventually stopping at the altar in front of the priest. His friend had a front row seat, because well who else right? Little small talk filled the heavy silence that hung in the cathedral, it was some stupid talk. Nothing duty related, because today his friend wasn’t here as the Warden of the North. No, he was here as a friend and that was what he needed. Camilla soon joined the both of them which made the silence return again. There weren’t many people present today, which was on purpose. That and well, family was something the both of them didn’t have apart from the people present here. Soon as those heavy doors swung open the man swallowed. Someone was leading her down the isle, someone he actually recognized as the Lord of the Lair. Peculiar. But it didn’t matter, not when he locked eyes with the woman with whom he’d be sharing  the rest of his life for. A soft smile curled around his lips, this was it.

Alec straightened his back as they came closer, eyes shortly shooting to the priest asking who was giving her away. Such a weird statement actually. Shortly he looked at Asher, still a tad confused about why he was here. But that was something he could get too later, a soft nod was thrown into his direction as a thank you. When Camilla intercepted Willa again he shortly chuckled, hugging the older woman as soon as she came to him. And then her hand was placed in his, walking alongside her. Softly squeezing her hand. ’You look beautiful.’ He whispered softly, eyes aimed at her. Coming to a stop in front of the priest and turning to her, taking her other hand in his as well, giving her the faintest of squeezes.

A soft chuckle, ”You clean up pretty nicely as well captain,” she answered with a smile while her tears dried. As an orphan, Willa held little to no hope that there would be someone to guide her down that aisle. In a moment of emotional unrest because of her pregnancy, she had shot off an invitation-like letter to Kraken’s Lair, but she hadn’t expected the man to actually show up. Asher’s presence had changed that fear of being alone on her wedding day. With her arm firmly hooked through his elbow, she felt like she could face the nerves shooting through her body like electricity. The blonde was too occupied with how happy she felt in that moment, to even realize or remember that she had never told Alec just how close she was to Asher Fabron to begin with. The older man responded to the priest’s ask and Willa smiled while whispering a soft: ”Thank you… for everything.” It was far overdue, but she felt like it was the right moment to thank him for the protection, the advice, both terrible and good advice and for being the father she had sometimes needed more than anything.

A warm hug from someone who had been like a mother to her these past weeks. Helping her through a million little pains because of the baby, forcing her in a dress, explaining to her just what was going to happen since Willa didn’t know anything about religion. The woman had truly accepted Willa and that made it all even better. Her hand was carefully placed in Alec’s and she smiled up at him, squeezing back as soon as she felt him squeezing her hand. His words caused a slight blush to appear on her face, ”You look handsome,” she softly answered. He turned towards her, and she did the same, blue eyes focusing on his. This was it. The end of whatever bachelorette life she had been leading, the end of being alone and in all honesty, the end of being as free as possible. She didn’t mind, not even a little bit, because this felt right, her heart told her that this was right. This man was the one she’d follow for the rest of her life, stand by his side whenever he needed her to lean on, look for support with him whenever she needed him.

The priest had started speaking sentences she had heard Camilla speak before when she had been preparing Willa for the ceremony. Words, meaningful words, that had probably resounded against those stone walls a million times before, and yet they felt like they were spoken just for them. The priest spoke loudly and clearly, and when he was done speaking, she knew it was Alec’s turn. She took that split second of silence to pull the man a little bit closer, turning his hand in her grip and softly placing it against the side of her stomach. Their little bundle of joy was letting them know that he was there and she wanted Alec to know that too.

If anything Alec couldn’t be more happier about the fact that Camilla and Willa had hit it off. Sure, often he felt outnumbered but well he didn’t mind in the slightest bit. Anything for the woman whose hand he was holding. Anything to give her that feeling of belonging somewhere because he wanted that for here. He didn’t want her to feel like an outcast so if anything he was lucky that Camilla was around for them. She squeezed back and he warmly smiled at her, that light blush on her cheeks. He’d never grow tired of that. As the two turned to each other he locked eyes with her, not looking away. Yet feeling the watchful eyes of those present, even of those that weren’t there. Like Tyrr. Yeah, he certainly had earned his spot amongst the people here. But he was watching from wherever he was, that was what Alec told himself. Very softly he moved his thumb over the back of her hand, a happy little smile curling around his lips.

When the priest went talking on he listened, yet the words didn’t reach him entirely. No, Alec was finding himself inside a bubble. A fuzzy one that was just made for the both of them, the words of the priest sounded quite far away and it was only when Willa turned his hand in her grip and placed it against the side of her stomach that he snapped out of that daze. Tears shining in his eyes as he shortly glanced at her stomach, feeling his heart speed up. The soft kick against the palm of his hand. Alec visibly swallowed, almost chuckling of how silly he was acting right now.

Soon enough looking her in the eyes again. Mouthing a short I love you to her before he took a deep breath. ’I can’t promise you that dark clouds will never hover over our lives or that the future will bring us many rainbows. I can’t promise you that tomorrow will be perfect or that life will be easy. Because we don’t to easy or perfect.’ Alec shortly winked at her. Squeezing her hand. ’I can promise you my everlasting devotion, my loyalty, my respect. And my unconditional love for a lifetime. I can promise that I’ll always be here for you, to listen, to hold your hand and I’ll always do my best to make you happy and make you feel loved. I will see you through any crisis and dream with you, build with you and always encourage you. I’ll willingly be your protector, your advisor, your counselor, your friend, your family, your everything and his father. I promise you.’ His voice trembled ever so slightly but it did. He took a deep breath mainly to calm himself before he’d be balling his eyes out.

Amalgamation Empty Re: Amalgamation

Earlier, she had noticed every single person present in the cathedral. Asher, who had looked like she had just given him a gift instead of the other way around; the priest who seemed bored out of his mind; Apollo, who seemed a little less lord-like; Camilla, who seemed buzzing with excitement. Every single person, she had noticed and inventoried in her brain, but as soon as their eyes had locked, it was as if a blanket had been pulled over her. That feeling you get when hiding under a blanket and the whole world seems to have fallen away, that was what she felt in that specific moment. She knew what the priest was saying, because Camilla had prepared her, and she knew who was looking at them as she had seen them all earlier. But now, in this exact moment, it felt like it was just her and him, the two of them against the world.

No, the three of them against the world, as their child seemed to remind them by kicking against their father’s hand. Alec’s eyes seemed to have glazed over with tears and she felt some burning in her own. With a soft nod, she smiled at him, she understood, hell, she felt like an emotional wreck herself. He mouthed those words, those she still hadn’t spoken outright, and she smiled. The more words that left his mouth, the more her heart seemed to pick of speed. A soft chuckle rolled off her lips, no, they didn’t do normal or easy, let alone perfect. Her fingers softly squeezed his back. His promise made a tear roll over her cheek and she didn’t even move to wipe it away as she looked at him. There was a short silence is which she gathered her courage and took a deep breath to steady herself.

Before she started speaking, the blonde softly squeezed Alec’s hands. ”From the moment our paths crossed, you’ve captured me… quite literally,” she joked, winking at him before returning to her vows, ”captivated me, challenged me, frustrated me and improved me in ways no person has done before. And I have fallen in love with you.” It was something she hadn’t admitted yet, but now she had and it felt quite perfect. ”Today I promise you that though the world may change and we may change with it, I will always love you, treasure you and will share all that I am with you. I promise that I will respect you, support you through those dark times and rejoice whenever life does bring us a rainbow.” she spoke words that hadn’t been in her head seconds ago, but they seemed to fit, and she needed them to be spoken. She needed him to know that she would always be there for him, through the good and through the bad. ”I will be loyal to you always and above all, love you, not only as my husband, but as my friend. I will help our love grow and I am proud, from this day forward, to be called your wife.”

Her gaze hadn’t strayed from him for a second but now, she glanced down at where their hands rested on her stomach and she smiled. His wife. His wife and the mother of his child. With those last words, she ended their vows and that seemed to activate the priest again to finish the ceremony. A white ribbon was handed to him as Willa lifted their hands so he could tie the ribbon around them. ”With this ribbon you are bound to your vows. May this knot remain tied for as long as love shall last. May it be granted that what is done before the Gods be not undone by man. Hold tight to one another through both good times and bad, and watch as your strength grows,” the older man spoke and Willa squeezed Alec’s hand softly. This was really it.

Willa spoke her vows and he smiled all the way through. The little jokes only he would be able to decipher, but most of all the moment she said she had fallen for him it made him weak on the knees truth be told. Closing his eyes shortly, a tear actually rolling over his cheek. Damnit. Whenever life brought them a rainbow, yeah there would be some rainbows, some thunderclouds, some actual thunderstorms even but he all signed up for that.To be called your wife. A brighter smiled appeared on his lips as she concluded. His heart was actually racing in his chest and well in this moment it felt right. Everything felt more than right. Their eyes stayed locked, until she looked down. And so did he, it was a joyful moment. The mother of his child, the start of their little family this was happening for real now.

As the priest tied the ribbon around their hands he took a deep breath again, squeezing her hand so subtle. They were really doing this. This was it. Yet this wasn’t just it. No, next came the ring ceremony. The priest continued as Camilla brought the rings forward, a smile caressed his lips as he nodded at the woman. For him, it was important that she was included in this because in the end she had raised him and she had been there for Willa these past few weeks. ’Wedding rings are made precious by our wearing them. Your rings say that even in your uniqueness you have chosen to be bound together. Let these rings also be a sign that love has substance as well as soul, a present as well as a past, and that, despite its occasional sorrows, love is a circle of happiness, wonder, and delight. May these rings remind you always of the vows you have taken here today.’

Alec picked the ring from the tiny pillow and slid it around her finger, the softest tremble in his movements as he took a deep breath looking her in the eyes. ’With this ring, I give you my hear. From this day forward, you shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter and my arms will be your home.’

Her heart twitched as she saw the emotions flashing on his face, the tear rolling down his cheek. She wanted to react out, but it just wasn’t the right time for that, so she stayed still. His smile made her feel weak in the knees and she smiled back, squeezing his hand as the ribbon was tied around their hands. Only now, as she felt the white ribbon being tightly wound around her hand, she realized, truly saw what they were doing and her rapidly beating heart calmed. This was okay, this was the man she wanted to spent eternity with, who’s hand she wanted to hold while a priest bound a piece of rope around their hands. As the priest’s words ended, so did the moment of handfasting and they went on to the ring exchange.

A smile was pointed at Camilla as she brought up the rings while they listened to the cardinal’s words, words that no longer mattered to her. She knew the meaning of this whole schtick, she knew what this entailed, she knew this was forever. And if there was one thing, she was sure of, it was that she meant every single word of the vows she had spoken. Her blue gaze was looking down as the man slid the silver wedding band over her ring fingers and she softly chuckled, unsure if she was trembling more or he was. As he ended his words, she took the second ring from the little pillow and looked up at Alec for a second while Camilla went back to her seat. Gently she took his hand and slid the ring around it. ”With this ring, I give you my heart. From this day forward, you shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter and my arms will be your home,” she spoke, letting her fingers linger on his and looking back up into his eyes.

The cardinal cleared his throat and Willa smiled. ”And now by the power vested in me by Solista and Yunuen, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. May the Gods bless your marriage with love and light.” A true feeling of relief washed through her and she bounced on her feet shortly as she grinned up at Alec. Her hand reached for his cheek and she softly kissed him before whispering: ”Guess we made it huh? To the thing.” A chuckle sounded before she let her eyes glide over the few people gathered to witness their marriage.

The ring exchange meant little more than just a simple pleasantries, everything evolved around the hand fastening ceremony. But honestly he couldn’t not put something of himself in those words. Because yes, he would be her home, for plenty of years to come. A safe haven for her, as she was a safe haven to him. Like she had already been the past few weeks when he had been recovering. Willa had been the one to actually keep him going, the one that actually made him go outside again. The one that called of Vesper when she thought he had enough medication. The pain was almost gone completely by now and he had regained complete mobility again. Which was all thanks to her and the little bean inside of her, that wasn’t as little anymore. She was trembling as well, which gave him some peace of mind sure. But when she said those words back, slid that ring around his finger a happy smile appeared on his lips and honestly when their eyes linked again he felt the stress of this whole thing fall from his shoulders.

Watching her bounce he softly chuckled, but as her hand reached for his cheek he softly pulled her just that little closer, to make that kiss last a bit longer, noses softly brushing against each other. Everything he wanted right here, in one area. What more could a man wish for? ’We did, and I’m happy we did miss Winchester.’ Alec softly whispered against her lips before he took a bit more distance from her and turned towards the people that were in the church, friends, family. The people he wanted there, the people they wanted there.

I've spent a lifetime running, and I always get away

In the aftermath of the battle the North slowly healed. People took their time to grief and say a proper goodbye to the fallen. No more plague of undying, no more death, they were almost out of the woods. And slowly but surely life got back on track. And so did the more joyous occasions. She didn't particularly enjoy celebrations. She had better things to do after all. Either as a physician tending to the victims while the North licked its wounds or as Mistress of Whisperers. She had letters to write, visits to pay and people to heal. But, today she made an exception. There would be no business today, only celebration. She had even dressed up in a more formal gown. One fitted for a wedding of people she actually cared about.

Her attention was grabbed by Willa when the doors opened. She looked beautiful, and very pregnant. If anything she was the living proof that there was light at the end of the tunnel. She frowned a little when her gaze shifted to the man who was walking her down the isle. She had been told that it was the Lord of the Lair. Interesting. Again she had to remind herself that she was here as a guest and not to do her job. Yet she always kept her eyes open for any possible danger. Thankfully for her the couple proceeded with the celebration and she could just focus on that for now. She listened carefully to their promises to each other, even grinning a little as Alec put his hand on Willa's belly. And what a happy trinity they were. As soon as they slid those rings on each others fingers she felt that sweet relief. She took a sip from her cup, not really caring about the looks she got. She was still recovering from all the hours of lost sleep and this concoction she so carefully made kept her awake. The fact that she was even here should be counted as enough of a blessing. Finally Alec and Willa were together, now officially. She slowly stood up, giving them a polite nod. And if that wasn't enough she granted them something even better: a genuine smile.
