Making a Small House
So you and your newfound RPG friends have decided to start a family together, congratulations! Joining forces and becoming a house is a big step in your Characters life. Or maybe you already had a house in your head, which you now want to put onto the digital paper and show the world.

That is possible! Because on Forged in Fire you do not need a city or a spot on the map for you to become an actual lord of an house! You can start your house by making an application and adding it onto this post. You'll need atleast two other friends (so no, not 3 characters of yourself) to start the house. All we need from you is some information the more extensive the better but atleast the following list.

Code:
[b]Players:[/b]
[b]Characters:[/b]
[b]The characters their roles in the house:[/b]

[b]Approximate place on the map:[/b]
[b]House name:[/b]
[b]House Sigil:[/b] (To draw one you can find the link here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1D8xhgxtXtVmzPwp94JwfU5UPBw8EuXly )
[b]House Words:[/b]

[b]House Personality[/b]
[b]House History[/b]

Below you'll find our standard sheet for the house applications, which you may use to display the information of your house.

Code:
<style>#HMlinkss4 {text-shadow: 0px; transition: .3s; font-family: playfair display;font-size:7px;letter-spacing:2px; background: #262626; color: #fff; padding: 7px; display: block; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; width: 150px; border: 2px solid #303030;margin-right:0px;margin-left:20px;margin-top:5px;}#HMlinkss5 {text-shadow: 0px; transition: .3s; font-family: playfair display;font-size:7px;letter-spacing:2px; background: #262626; color: #fff; padding: 5px; display: block; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; width: 125px; border: 2px solid #303030;margin-right:0px;margin-left:0px; } #biglink { text-shadow: 0px; transition: .3s; font-family: playfair display;font-size:7px;letter-spacing:2px; background: #262626; color: #fff; padding: 5px; display: block; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; width: 255px; border: 2px solid #303030;margin-top:7px;margin-bottom:4px; } </style>

HOUSE INFO

In the past, House Redmayne has often been disregarded by higher Lords and Ladies. The House originated from humble beginnings, and it is quite far removed from any of the major cities in Avalance. The Redmayne name remained fairly unknown, except for those with interest in the mining industry. The people who did know the members of House Redmayne, knew them as sober, trustworthy, and hard-working people.

However, the general image of House Redmayne has changed tremendously over the past decade. Lord Jordan Redmayne is seen as an ambitious and ruthless businessman, quickly rising up through the country’s ranks and making quite the name for himself. Lord Redmayne is mostly known nowadays as the Master of Finances at the Royal Court and the owner of Cidhna Mine. Some rumours go around about the inhumane living conditions within the prison, but since it only concerns criminals, most people turn a blind eye to their suffering.

HOUSE HISTORY

House Redmayne was founded a long time ago, originating in a small mining village at the southern tail of the Iron Ridge. A few hundred years ago, the mining community was nothing more than a little settlement with about fifty inhabitants, earning their living by mining iron, copper, and silver. The ore was distributed throughout the central regions of Avalance and the miners made a decent wage. Over the coming years, the community started growing. To supervise the sudden influx of workers, a leader was chosen. This was Lord Darron Redmayne, the first of his name. The small mining community thrived under Lord Darron and his sons, steadily continuing to grow for several generations. Especially during times of war, the village experiences surges of prosperity due to high demand for iron to make weapons with.

This prosperity would not last forever, though. New trade routes all over Avalance, and even abroad, led to the import of new materials from all over the world. New mining communities started to pop up all around the Iron Ridge and House Redmayne was no longer the sole supplier on the market. The political climate within the country also calmed down, which caused the demand for iron to drop tremendously. House Redmayne greatly suffered under the decrease of demand and the increase of suppliers. These changes in turn led to severe pay cuts, causing many of the workers to abandon the community in search of a more lucrative job. The mining community shrunk down to the small settlement it had once been all those hundreds of years ago.

Adian Redmayne was the one to put the final nail into House Redmayne’s coffin, or so most people thought. Adian was a resentful man, tormented by the ridicule he faced because of his forefather’s failure to keep House Redmayne afloat. He had no regard for the wellbeing of his people, and demanded they work in terrible conditions. Since House Redmayne had been low on funds for quite some time, the mines were in terrible shape and often collapsed, causing workers to die while working quite frequently. Pay was still very low, and workers were housed in small, crowded, and dirty buildings. These conditions earned Lord Adian a lot of protest, which he had his guards suppress in the most violent of manners. It was a dark time for House Redmayne, and many suspected it would be the end of the house.

Adian eventually passed away due to illness, leaving his eldest son Jordan in charge. While Lord Jordan was arguably in no way a better person than his father, he was infinitely more intelligent. From a young age, the boy proved his business-savvy, and the people of the community hoped that he would turn things around for them. And he did, just not in the way they had expected him to.

Lord Jordan Redmayne fired every single one of his workers and reconstructed the settlement into a penal colony for criminals from all over Avalance, named Cidhna Mine. Convicts sentenced to penal servitude at Cidhna Mine were brought over to the settlement in order to work in the mines as punishment for their crimes for a small fee to the Lord who harboured them. This way, Jordan had cost-free labourers working for him day and night, massively increasing his profits. The living conditions were still horrible, and the mines still frequently collapsed, but since the criminals were meant to be punished in the first place, no one thought twice about it. To this day, Cidhna Mine remains a settlement for penal servitude, controlled by Lord Jordan Redmayne.

TL;DR: House Redmayne used to be a small mining colony near the southern tip of the Iron Ridge. The past two decades, however, it has been turned into a penal colony where the prisoners work within the mines to earn money for Lord Jordan Redmayne.

HOUSE INFO

House Cross is mostly known for their magnificent work all throughout the Crownlands. They are great architects that come up with the wildest, most beautiful ideas. With everything they design and build, they strive for perfection. Their most recent creation always needs to be better than the previous one. Everything they create is especially well detailed and above all, unique.

An illness runs through their family and mostly seems to affect the men. The good thing is that not everyone gets 'infected'. No one knows why it happens and they try to keep it quiet. Until 'recent' events no one knew about it. It was only when their father went truly insane, that the world learned about it. The illness is what we now call schizophrenia, but during this time period, no one knows what it is. People still believe their father was possessed or a complete lunatic.

HOUSE HISTORY

House Cross is a small house that has been around for many years and every generation has left their mark upon the Crownlands. For as long as people can remember they were the people responsible for a lot of the buildings spread around Avalancce. They are architects and have their own well-known business. One of their largest, most important projects ever, was the royal palace, which they helped build. But that was a very long time ago.

Not much happened over the years. Their business kept growing and they made a name for themselves. Back then, they were very good friends with House Whytebeard and House Quinn. Over the years they also tried to spread their business around the other countries of Avalance but weren't successful. But they keep trying.

Rabastan was still very young when he became Lord of House Cross, but he wasn't afraid. Together with his wife, Beatrice Fletcher, he ruled over the family business and got four sons. Everything went better than ever until he got sick. The sickness that ran through his family was a secret and because it had been a while since someone got sick, they thought they were finally free of it. But the sickness hit hard and in the end, Beatrice decided to kill her own husband, to protect her children and everyone around them. Later she decided to retire and live somewhere else. No one has heard of her ever since.

HOUSE INFO

The Evergreen is famous for its wine. Many families take the opportunity to open a vineyard and try to export their wines throughout Avalance. Not many make a small fortune because of it though. It requires hard work, but above all, a mind for business and management. House Azamarr is one of the families that has succeeded in building enough reputation and contacts for them to have acquired the status of Small House.

The Azamarr estate is located between Fairview and Riverhold, granting them the opportunity to ship their products easily. They mainly focus on white wine that tastes rather sweet. The vast vineyards surrounding the estate are maintained by employees while the public relations are handled by the Head of House. Their established network of customers ensures a steady flow of income, which gives them the opportunity to invest in future expansion.

HOUSE HISTORY

House Azamarr was founded thirty-something years ago by Ichabod Azamarr and his son Victor. They bought the grounds on which they built the vineyard. They both were skilled farmers with expertise in the world of vinification. Their wine was sweet and fruity, appealing especially to women and younger folk who were looking for an alcoholic drink to enjoy during particularly warm days. They had the perfect formula to be successful, aside from one important skill.

No matter how hard they tried, they didn’t seem to be able to build a network of clients. They both lacked the finesse of business negotiations and public relations. It wasn’t until Ichabod died and his son took over that the vineyard actually started bringing in revenue. Victor had accepted the help from an outsider, who had promised to assist in the matters he did not understand himself. A favour that would put them in debt until the day a man came knocking at the door.

Little is known about the last pregnancy of Lady Isabel. As secluded as the estate is, only few know about it and the fact that the baby was never seen. Some say the pregnancy went wrong, resulting in a stillborn. Others say the child died of an illness. Even after eighteen years the rumours haven’t stopped, but it is not interfering with business anymore like it had in the beginning. House Azamarr is ready to expand even more as Lord Victor is preparing his heir to take over some day soon.

HOUSE INFO

House Hyon is a relatively young house. They started as a small boutique, not known by many, but became more known with the years. They are located in Dragonwatch, but are willing to travel anywhere for work, especially when it comes to wedding clothes. They mostly make personalized clothes, but inside the boutique there are also some ready-made clothes for people who need them on the spot.

The sigil for house Hyon is a pair of scissors.

HOUSE HISTORY

House Hyon originally comes from Yax'in. Around fifty years ago, Lian Hyon came from Yax'in to Avalance together with his wife. They settled in Dragonwatch and started their own boutique there. At first it wasn't that well known, but with the years more and more people started coming. Once they became more known, people from further away started to request from them too. Since they were still quite a small boutique at the time, they weren't able to travel around for those people.

Fai Hyon, the first son of Lian Hyon, took over the boutique after his father died. He and his wife made the boutique flourish and better known. They taught their children everything they knew and when their daughter Victoria asked if she could travel to learn more about the other regions they let her. This was also the moment they decided that it would be beneficial for their boutique to start to travel to their customers whom were further away than the Crownlands. They had more people working in the boutique now, so it would be possible for them to leave others in charge while they were traveling.

The boutique ran smoothly for years, however Fai and his wife weren't doing that well. They had worked hard all their lives and they just seemed exhausted. It didn't take long for both of them to pass away, leaving the boutique in the hands of their children, Jin and Victoria.

HOUSE INFO

Felix didn’t start this house to become more powerful, or to take over any properties or other houses. He simply wanted a place Undying could crash and where they would be able to find their humanity back. He takes in those who have no other home because they’re evicted from it, or simply because they need a place they can be safe. Although he has strict rules, he follows himself too, they’re designed to teach discipline and to keep their nature at bay without causing -in his eyes- unnecessary chaos or trouble. On the other hand, he’ll protect those in his house like his own children, keeping them safe whatever it takes.
He usually only takes in undying, as they mostly don’t have any family by blood anymore. For him, the word family extends to having a bond and going through fire for each other. When a member breaks one of his ground rules though, Felix will evict them, though for an indeterminate period of time, not permanently.

HOUSE HISTORY

Felix had just bought the huge property near Crestfall to settle in when he met Anaïs. The undying had been traveling around, buying estates and selling it before he settled upon the huge mansion he still owns up until now. He never had been particularly open, but undying kept coming on his path for some reason. While he classified most of them upon being bad or evil, he met a girl that had just been turned into an undying against her will after he’d bought her as his own slave. Even after he’d done her so wrong, he kept pushing her into doing even more things she didn’t want, upon which Felix decided to safe her, killing the undying that had caused all of her misery.
When she’d nowhere to go, he took her into his mansion and learned her how he lived with the fact he was an undying. Although she was, and still is, very different from himself, they got along well. The strict rules he had set up, originally for himself, caused tension between the two of them and eventually, she broke one of his most important ones: killing a staff member.
He spent his time alone after until Anaïs had left, living years upon years as he started to rethink about everything. He still hadn’t lost his hate for undying who’d turn others against their will or who’d be as relentless as some were, making him hunt for them at rare occasions. But when Aurélio came on his path, he couldn’t murder him as he saw there still was some good left in him. Aurélio wanted to prove it and under a deal Felix took him in. Although he and Aurélio differ as much as he and Anaïs did, they got along and after several years, the deal had grown into something far beyond.
Only when Anaïs returned and moved back into the mansion, Felix began to see it as a true family as he decided he’d take in every stray that needed a home or place to live in, if they’d adapt to the rules he’d drawn up.
