  • Ashax

  • Asherah

The capital of Ashax lies at the shores of the Blue Moon Spring, the only part north of the Burned Heights, alongside the Jade River, that knows a constant source of freshwater and has fertile and green lands. Asherah was founded by the daughter of the last of the Old Kings. The city takes pride in its ancient roots and knows a few exotic wares from Yax'in. Iconography in Asherah’s architecture mostly portrays the Sun Goddess or her tales. The buildings are light and warm colours against the harsh sunlight, but there is a lot of vibrance to find in their clothes and decorations.

  • The Burn

When one thinks of hot area’s with reddish-brown rocks and cacti, one thinks of the Burn. This is an arid piece of land, just behind the peaks of the Burning Heights. There are little vegetation and wildlife that live here, causing the area to be void of towns or cities. The people that live on this side of the Jade Run mostly cling to the riverside, because the lands around it are more fertile. It very rarely rains in the Burn and to find freshwater one has to turn to creative ways to get to it, like drinking the water stored in the cacti.

  • The Fiery Wilds

The savannah lands that lie north of the Jade Run are called the Fiery Wilds. While less hot and more vegetated than the Burn in the south, the Wilds still prove a harsh place to live. Going up north, the climate becomes a little milder, with some rains, meaning the trees and bushes also become more numerous. The animals tend to stick to the northern plains as well, making it a more appealing place to live. The most important town you can find here is Sandport, another harbour town.

  • The Burning Heights

The Burning Heights are the highest mountains in Avalance. The rain falls on one side, leaving the other barren. The ground and stones are of a reddish-brown colour, contributing to the name it eventually got. These mountains are hard to pass, but there are a few places that allow a save passage. The most well-known of these is the Jagged Pass, which leads from Sunfall to the city of Asherah. No cities lie within the mountains and they are mostly uninhabited.

  • The Stormy Edge

Behind the Burning Heights lies a strip of land that is lush with greenery and known for its heavy rainfall. The contrast with the hot wilds behind the range could not be bigger. There are a few towns and cities on this side of the mountains, most notable of all is the port town called Sunfall. Sunfall is where the ships leave for Yax'in To trade spices, jade, and other luxury products. Because of this trade, Sunfall is a city of riches and makes the Stormy Edge a very important area for the whole of Ashax. Aside from the trades, they also get precious recourses from the land behind the mountains.
