  • The Crownlands

  • Dragonwatch

While nowhere near as old as some of the other cities in Avalance, Dragonwatch is by far the most impressing. The city was built to become the capital of the kingdom and quickly grew up to its expectations, becoming the largest city in all of Avalance. Many people come here looking to gain wealth or status, but only a few succeed. With a view both over the Dragon's Tail and the Rift, the Hall of Dragons is the grand castle that seats the Dragon Kings of Avalance. Beneath the city sleeps the famous dragon Sunchaser, who turned the Iron City to ash and keeps the enemies of the crown at bay.

  • The Green Antler (south)

South of the Red Creek lies the southern part of the Green Antler forest. The Green Antler is known for its wide variety of wildlife which make it perfect for hunting. The southern part is often used for such by the king, royal family and other noble houses of the Crownlands, like house Quinn from the City Oakstead. In the western part of the forest, against the Iron Ridge, lie the ruins called the City of Ash, which was once the capital of Avalance. After the burning of the city and the raised dead that inhabited it, it has always remained its eerie atmosphere, often being part of myths about the dead roaming the lands. Beware that the City of Ash is a dangerous area.

  • The Golden Hills (East)

The eastern part of the Golden Hills look much like the western part in the Evergreen. The grassy hills connect the Iron Ridge with the Red Rise and also form a boundary between the Crownlands and the Evergreen. Because they lie in the middle of these provinces, the lands were often fought over in the past, but they did not lose any of their beauty. A lot of small farm towns lie beside the roads that lead through this area, making good use of the fertile grounds, ruled by House Whytebeard of the city Crestfall.

  • The Red Rise

In the most southern reach of the mainland of Avalance lies a small but high mountain range called the Red Rise. The Dragon's Tail finds its source in these mountains, flowing down to lower lands and the capital. Only a few towns lie in and near the Rise. Like every mountain range it is quite harsh terrain, however there are some very lush spots to be found in between the mountains, making it an interesting place for collecting certain herbs. Aside from this there are also some traces to be found of the Old Kings, as the Red Rise was one of the places to survive the floods.

  • The Scourged Isles

In between the Crownlands and Ashax lie the Scourged Isles. Beneath the Rift sea there are lands that once connected Avalance and the island, the isles being only the highest parts of this former landmass. After the flood, which destroyed the First City, now called the Sunken City, the isles were scourged by the dragons of Dragonwatch in a battle between house Illeon and house Aldyr. Nowadays the Isles are not inhabited, and mostly used as a place to stop in between sailing from Dragonwatch to the delta of Jade Run in Ashax, or to find artefacts and information related to the Old Kings. Beware that this is a dangerous area.
